Suraya Hendrikx
Suraya is an international dressage rider representing Belgium, currently competing at Grand Prix U25 level. She competed at 8 European Championships in youth classes and Grand Prix U25 and won several medals at the Belgian Championships.
Suraya has embarked on her equestrian journey from a young age. It all started when she joyfully received a Shetland pony from her parents at the age of 3 years old. Because of her parents are also riders and they have a veterinary practice, Suraya has always been an animal lover and passionate about equestrian sports. At the age of 9 years old she got her first D-pony, a stallion (not saddle broken) of 3 years old. With the help of her parents and the good guidance of the well known rider in dressage sport and aunt Jeannette Haazen, she started competing on regional level when she was 10 years old. Suraya’s journey was marked by consistent success, and her pony, with whom she shared an extraordinary bond, played a significant role in her early achievements. They grew together up to the international level where Suraya ended her pony carreer. She transitioned to the junior level, where she continued to shine, excelling in all youth classes with poise and finesse.
Today, Suraya stands as an accomplished equestrian, competing at Grand Prix U25 level, representing her country on the international stage.
throughout her carreer she has had nice results and won nice awards and slowly the ECH-stable grew with new quality horses to train.
Suraya trains all her horses herself, starting from young age up to the Grand Prix level. Besides riding herself, she teaches a lot of students at all levels.
Suraya herself is currently training by Jacqueline Fiechter.
