Breeding Conditions

The following general breeding conditions apply to all ECH stallions.

Breeding season: until 15 August 2026.

1. Stallion and breeding service

The stallion Avici ECH is owned by ECH bv.

The breeding service is provided via ECH bv and an approved breeding station.


The semen remains the property of ECH bv and may only be used for the mare specified in the breeding contract.

The semen may not be frozen, sold, transferred or used for other mares.

2. Semen order and delivery

Semen should preferably be ordered one day in advance.


Orders within Belgium must be placed between 08:00 and 09:00 on the day of insemination.

Orders for shipments outside Belgium must be placed before 08:45.


ECH bv aims to ship semen in time but cannot be held responsible for delays, loss or damage caused by transport companies.

3. Documentation for first breeding

For the first semen order the following information must be provided:

  • Copy of the studbook document
  • Mare identification number
  • Contact details of the mare owner
  • Name and address of the inseminating veterinarian or breeding station

4. Costs and transport

Transport, packaging and certificate costs are not included in the breeding fee.


Any health, export or veterinary certificates are at the expense of the applicant.


The recipient is responsible for complying with all import regulations and veterinary requirements in the destination country.

5. Price structure

Fertilisation fee (booking fee): €300 incl. VAT

Payable with the first semen order.


Pregnancy fee: €700 incl. VAT

Payable once the mare is confirmed pregnant.


Invoices are payable within 14 days.

ECH bv reserves the right to refuse shipment of semen if previous invoices remain unpaid.

6. Pregnancy guarantee

If the mare is not pregnant, a veterinary non-pregnancy certificate must be provided to ECH bv before 15 October 2026.


If the certificate is not received in time, the pregnancy tax (€700) will be invoiced.


If no live foal is born, a free breeding will be offered in the 2027 breeding season.

7. Breeding season

The breeding season ends on 15 August 2026.

 8. Embryo transfer

Embryo transfer (ET) is only permitted after written agreement from ECH bv.


ECH bv reserves the right to impose additional conditions or fees.

9. Veterinary conditions

The mare must be reproductively sound.


Insemination must be performed by a licensed veterinarian or an approved breeding station.

10. Stallion availability

If the stallion becomes unavailable due to illness, injury or death,

ECH bv cannot be held liable.

11. Liability

ECH bv cannot be held liable for veterinary problems, reduced fertility, transport issues or indirect damages, except where Belgian mandatory law applies.

12. Mare death or replacement

In case of death of the mare, a veterinary certificate must be provided to ECH bv within7 days.Subject to approval by ECH bv, the breeding right may be transferred to another mare owned by the same owner.
